April 2, 2026 Email to Active Group

This “Active Group 2” email is in addition to our monthly update that goes to the full list. It’s meant for members who want to take action and don’t mind more frequent messages (about once every 1–2 weeks). In this web version, some sensitive details may be omitted; the best way to stay fully informed is to sign up for the email list.

------ IMMEDIATE ASK

Meeting with Rep. Kevin Mullin

First thing first: Are you Rep.Kevin Mullin's constituent (most of San Mateo County)? Would you be willing to meet with him to discuss detention centers and ICE? We're going on April 7 and it would be great to have some local voices. Let me know!

------ EXPECTATION

Participation

In this email, there are multiple opportunities to volunteer and help organize over the course of this month. Remember, this email list is for active group members only! (You can downgrade to the monthly email list only if you wish). Therefore, I expect to hear from each of you about one of these :) Team leads are excused :)

------ URGENT STATE ACTION

CA Governor Race Nightmare — Urgent Action

CA Governor Race Nightmare Urgent Action
Many of you have asked me this question: what can we do about the upcoming possible disaster in CA? Because of the way our top-two primary works, there’s a real risk that the vote could split in a way that leaves us with two Republican candidates on the November ballot. A statewide group of Indivisible organizers has put together a short survey to understand what Indivisible member preferences actually are in terms of the Democratic candidates. The survey results will be shared with the campaigns and state party leadership to encourage lower-polling candidates to step back in mid-April. Here's more information and instructions (and Gov candidate profiles). More questions? Email IndivCAStateNetwork@gmail.com.

Deadline: April 8 at 6:30pm

Democracy Forum: Protecting Our Community from ICE, April 11
We're helping Indivisible Palo Alto Plus organize a special “Protecting Our Community from ICE” community forum on April 11, 3:30-5:30 PM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto. Speakers and breakout sessions will focus on best practices arising from Minneapolis and how they can be applied in the Bay Area.

Please RSVP

To volunteer: we need ushers, people to set up and clean up, to check in speakers, breakout helpers, time keepers. Let me know!

------ ACTION LAB

Activist Action Lab in the Park

Activist Action Lab in the Park, April 25
This is a chance to let people in the community try out various ways to take action and hopefully join us! At the very least, step 1. RSVP to come, and step 2. help us spread the word: Eagle Park, Saturday, April 25, 3-5pm. Ideally, step 3 is volunteer to organize it. Come help us run various activities and sign people up! Was there part of Democracy Fair (No Kings 2) or Street Fest (No Kings 3) that you enjoyed and want other people to try it? What was it? Let me know ASAP!

------ MONTHLY MEETING

Monthly Meeting

Monthly Meeting
Our monthly meeting is coming up on Saturday, April 18. Featured speaker: Ren Fitzgerald, seasoned community organizer focused on transit issues and democratic strategy, undergraduate Urban Studies and Journalism student at UC Berkeley. Hope you can make it:https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/750621/.
