ICE Awareness Team
Families are separated, detained, or deported with no warning. Communities live in fear. Concentration camps are being built. Cruelty has become routine, treated as policy, not as a problem.
Yes, we organized a protest against disappearing people without due process. Yes, many of you are part of the Rapid Response Network. This is an ongoing moral catastrophe. It’s happening in our name, and we should be doing more to fight it.
What Can We Do?
- Cancel Spotify until Spotify stops running ICE ads
- Distribute "How to Report ICE" brochures around our neighboorhoods
- Be part of the visibility brigade to spread the message on bridges, overpasses, and/or in chalk
- Lobby state officials to pass laws against the secret police, as we have recently for SB 627 to ban the use of masks
- Learn more about Flock cameras and ICE and write to your city's police department and city council (as Oakland is doing it) to ask if they are using Flock and/or sharing the camera data with other cities that may be feeding our data to ICE.
- Train with Rapid Response Network
- Canvass local businesses to distribute ‘Employees Only’ signs which deter ICE and educate employers on their rights and responsibilities
- Sign up for alerts from Bay Resistance
- Print and carry red cards with you
