------ IT'S BLUE TURN STUFF

No Kings 2.0: Help Organize!

Urgent ask: please step up ASAP to help us organize a tremendous No Kings 2.0 Day on Oct.18 (event info here). We are working with 3 other chapters and, while there will be many opportunities to volunteer on the day of, I would like our group to be well-represented in the planning and organizing stage. What's your interest?

• Producing signs and flyers
• Brainstorming and executing ways to recruit people into Indivisible at the event
• Ensuring that needed equipment is rented, tracked, and returned
• Coordinating other volunteers
• Communicating with organizations that will table at the event

Each of these is a great way to step up and play a larger role in the resistance, and learn valuable and transferrable skills. You'll be part of the team and get support.

If not you, then who? If not now, when? (Well, actually, this week: that's when I need to put forward the names.) If you’ve ever thought “We should be doing more,” this is the ask.

Finish Postcards for Virginia

Please help finish up Sister District postcards for key Virginia state legislative candidates. Early voting starts in 2 weeks, these postcards must be done ASAP, by Oct.19. Pickup info here. We have about 1,200 left!

Help check these cards on Sept.17 & Sept.21: checking and stamping 4,000 postcards is a lot of work!

Prop.50 (Election Rigging Response Act)

• Attend canvassing (walking around and talking to voters) training workshop: Sign up here
• Join the first canvass in Redwood City or the ones in Mountain View / Los Altos we're co-sponsoring
• Help with canvass logistics: You can shadow a staging leader to help check people in, prep literature, orient volunteers, etc. The more help we have, the more canvassers we can support. Let me know if you can step up!
• Flyer your neighborhood: Print out flyers from our website or pick up printed copies on my porch.
• Write postcards: to CA voters for Yes on Prop.50 Pick up here
• Yard signs? If I order them (~$7 each), would you pay for one/several and talk to your neighbors to put them up?

Fighting Fascism Ethics Pledge: ICE Detention & Medical Complicity

We're starting an effort to coordinate a creation of an ethics pledge for medical professionals in light of the ICE detention regime. Do you know any of the following?

• Medical school professors
• State medical board members
• People in professional orgs (AMA, ACEP, etc.)
• Doctors who care about this issue
