MAGA Fallout

Art Against the Power Grab

RSVP
Aug 3 Meeting

MAGA Fallout is a community art project, inspired by the AIDS Memorial Quilt, that transforms personal stories of harm under the Trump administration into powerful panels. Each panel spotlights one person — yourself, someone you know, or someone you've learned about — and shows how cruel policies impacted their life. Together, these panels create a vivid picture of real experiences, allows people to share their anxiety, rage, or grief, and inspire others to get involved.

How to Create Your Panel

  1. Choose the Story. Who is your panel about? Yourself, a loved one, or someone else affected? Is it fear of deportations, loss of healthcare, anti-LGBTQ+ attacks, job loss, or other type of harm?
  2. Decide on Materials. Our panels are 11.7 inches x 16.5 inches cardstock. You can create yours on regular paper as well (as we will attach it to cardstock after you send it to us). If creating and/or sending a panel that size is a challenge, you can also submit a standard 8.5 x 11 inches panel. Any material or medium is fine - markers, magazine cut-outs, paint, tape, pencils, etc.
  3. Express the Story. Simple or elaborate, abstract or literal: what matters is the story. What do you want others to understand from this panel? What emotions do you hope your panel inspires in viewers?
  4. Add a Short Description. One paragraph that visitors can read alongside your panel that gives them an insight into the story.
