Plan 2021

Virginia & Special Elections
The most visible elections this year are in Virginia: governor, lt. governor, House of Delegates, and municipal elections. In 2018, blue wave flipped the VA state legislature, and with a full Democratic trifecta expanded voting rights, instituted gun safety laws, raised minimim wage, and abolished death penalty. We need to protect the Democratic gains in the state.
I will also keep an eye out for any key special elections, as elected officials die or resign.

Adopt-a-Committee
Stacey Abrams and LaTosha Brown (and thousands of volunteers in grassroots organizations across Georgia) helped establish a stronger, longer-lasting Democratic presence in Georgia. There are, however, other, less visible organizations that are languishing: local Democratic county committees. They are local folks, who really know their districts, who are the "soldiers on the ground" every year. But often, it's just a handful of volunteers for the whole county.
We're "adopting" a rural county north of Atlanta, Georgia, a key state for 2022. We will support them in whatever we can do remotely: postcards, phone banking, creating flyers, social media, answering emails, entering data, staff the phones, set up Google forms, etc. I believe that this truly can move the needle (long-term) and it will be very satisfying for us to see Dem presence grow as a direct result of our actions.

Registration & General Voter "Maintenance"
In the 2020 election post-mortem and in light of severe voting suppression, it is clear that we need more Democrats - the elections are too close for comfort. We will be registering voters, re-registering voters that have been purged, and reminding people of their voting options.
We will especially focus on the states integral to 2022 elections in the Senate and key districts in 2022 House races. The list is not finalized, but almost certainly will include double-threat states with key Senate & gubernatorial races such as AZ, GA, PA, and plausible US Senate win states such as NC and WI.
We may also engage in some efforts to counteract Republican lies about what the Democratic party stands for and how Democratic policies make our country better for everyone.
What is this based on? My theory of change & research. I base the plan on research completed by Sister District, Daily Kos forecasting team, Cook's Political Report, 538 poll aggregates, and Swing Left, among others.
Updated May 6, 2021: replaced the 2020 plan with preliminary version for 2021. Coming up: my explanation of my theory of change.
